Charity of the year

Each year at Torr Waterfield we choose a “Charity of the Year” to support.

As you may know, in the UK alone 850,000 people live with dementia, with numbers predicted to continue to rise. Alzheimer's Society provides information and support for people with all forms of dementia and those who care for them. They run quality care services, fund research, advise professionals and campaign for improved health and social care and greater public understanding of dementia.

Over the course of the next year we will raise money for Alzheimer’s Society through a variety of activities such as dress down days, cake sales and sponsored events. The month of May will see the return of the annual Torr Waterfield Karting Cup where 12 teams will compete in a two hour endurance race. We pledge to donate £100 to Alzheimer’s Society for each team taking part.

Lloyd Butcher, Community Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society said, “Support from people taking part in fundraising will help to ensure that our valuable work continues. We are therefore delighted that Torr Waterfield are supporting us in this way”.
